New Deer Valley Development Receives Approvals

Wasatch County Approves Mayflower Resort Development

The Wasatch County Council recently approved the final density for the county’s largest development  ever.  New York based Extell Development Company is developing a high-end destination resort that will provide another base for the Deer Valley Ski Area at the Mayflower exit off US-40 overlooking the Jordanelle Reservoir.  Highlights of this approved development include:

  • 1,498 equivalent residential units

  • 410 hotel units

  • Five-star and four-star hotels proposed

  • 40,000 square foot conference center

  • Hotel developed for members of the military

  • 250,000 square feet of commercial space

  • 68,000 square foot recreational area

  • 95,000 square feet of workforce housing

  • 6 new ski lifts

  • 900 acres of new ski terrain

  • Pedestrian-friendly design

  • Ski beach and ice skating rink included

  • 3,471 parking spots

  • Development could take up to 40 years to complete

At this phase, the developer has been approved to begin putting in the infrastructure for this development. Further approvals are needed before construction can begin.
